Halland Art Association Spring Scholarship

The jury, consisting of Jörgen Svensson, artist and museum director at Dalslands Konstmuseum, and Anna Persson, artist and principal of Dômen Art School in Gothenburg, motivated their choice as follows, with reference to the selected works:

"The 2025 scholarship recipient is Daniel Violin Lönnesjö. With his powerful expression and compelling visual language, Daniel’s paintings command their presence in the space. They are hard to ignore. In the encounter between vividly colored abstract forms and sculpted faces that could have been taken from classical sculptures and distorted through their journey in time, a beautiful meeting between past and present emerges. Despite their size and intensity, Lönnesjö’s paintings also convey a sense of vulnerability."
